Discussion for the Porter Cable PCE1700 TYPE 1 Commercial Electric Pressure Washer
The cap is a type of fastener called a push nut. It has a couple of tabs inside that grab a groove milled in the axle. To remove it you just simply pry it off. It can not be reused once it is removed so don't worry about damaging it. The replacement push nut is not offered by Porter Cable any longer but push nuts are very common. You should be able to find a suitable replacement at a local hardware store or home center.
Hi, I have two issues that may be related. When I pull the trigger there is an short kickback from pressure but it immediately dissipates and becomes nothing more than the house pressure. Also the end nozzle of the gun sprays all over as if there is a seal missing. The small nozzles feel lose in the quick connector.
I have a Porter Cable PCE 1700. Was not used over a year. I did not put antifreeze in it as it was recommended. Now if I start the motor, runs, the water coming slowly if I pull the trigger, but no kick back and power. I live in Florida and the unit was sitting in the garage. What can I do ? Thank You for any help.
Turn the unit over and there will be two valves (bronze color) one is the unloader, the other which is longer and is besides the pulse hose is the "easy start valve" unscrew it and it holds in place a spring which in turn holds down a steel ball, your spring is most likely broken, replace it with a genuine part because it is heavy duty, this should solve your problem.

Pull back on your nozzle, it might be set on low pressure.
pull for high pressure, push for low pressure.
If you pull and no water is coming out it means your nozzle is blocked.
Didn't catch my mistake in time. Too much pressure blew spray hose out of quick connect. now wont hold pressure and obviously leaks. what part needs to be replaced?
