We have had a lot of customer just replace the 910767 collar. Replace it and I'll bet your gun will work just fine.

Several weeks ago I ordered PN 901901 for my FR350A Type one. Today I see PN A03849 that appears to be the same part and considerably cheaper. Are both parts the same? I haven't received the first part I ordered yet.

Hello Powelljh,

The part number 901901 is for the following models, FC350 Type 1-3 and FR350 Type 1-3. The part number A03849 is for the following models, FC350A Type 1-2 and FR350A. The manufacture made some updates and design changes between the models without and with the A in the model number.

Question: Nailed

My Porter Cable framing gun is not driving the nails all the way in. I've checked the air pressure and it seems more than enough. the problem started when I shot a nail and on the underneath side there was a piece of steel and stopped the nail from going all the way in, after that it would not work properly any longer. I suspect an o-ring has been blown, but which one and how do I remove them?

The drive pin does not come all the way back up and this causes the nail to stop short of the the firing chamber.

Hi Jeff,

You have run into one of the most difficult nail gun repair issues. When a nail gets stuck between the driver and the nosepiece it can be nearly impossible to remove it. You will start by tearing down as much of the cylinder as possible. At minimum you will need to remove the head from the gun. We have had the most success using a bearing press. We position into the press the gun with the nose pointed up. Then we place a metal rod into the nosepiece and on the end of the driver. Now the driver can be pressed out of the nosepiece. You need to be very careful doing this because too much pressure will crack the aluminum nailer body.

Many times the driver simply cannot be pressed out of the nosepiece. In these cases the driver must be cut in half to remove it and the driver and nosepiece replaced.

Review: Porter Cable - FR350A

I have had this nailer for ten years and I 'm sure it's had many thousands of nails through it. Close to or over 100,00, both sheathing (2 3/8") and framing (3 1/4"). It has never failed me. I had one jam in the whole time, I had to remove the top of the cylinder and free up the piston. Once, that's it! It was probably my fault for not oiling it enough. Awesome price and performance!Bob
