Discussion for the Porter Cable FC350 TYPE 2 Clipped Head Framing Nailer
What's the deal? This gasket is no longer available? Should I make my own ?
My gun has a of lot miles on it but still works ok, except for some leaky gaskets.
Unfortunately the manufacture has discontinued the gasket for that and several other models, without a part number to replace it. It looks as if you will have to locate some similar gasket material and make you own.
My porter Cable FC 350 framing nailer had a nail jammed, after removing the jammed nail the nailer now just blows air out of the exhaust and does not work. I opened it up and the parts seem to be all ok. Any suggestions on what may be the problem and how to fix it.
Help!. I'm in the middle of rebuilding the Porter cable FC350T2 nail gun. The last step is to replace the trigger assembly, but after removing the roll pin that anchors it, HOW do you get the assembly out? There is nothing to grab except the plastic trigger pin and pliers slip off it too easily. Any suggestions please? Fred
I don't know about the porter cable guns but I rebuilt the trigger on my bostitch gun and there was a spot where I could get a small screwdriver under some plastic of the trigger valve and gently pry up. Sometimes they are stuck in there, the old o-rings kind of seal it in.

Thanks Ponch37300, This AM had the idea to connect the gun to reduced air pressure to blow the trigger out. It worked perfectly. So my problem is solved. Thanks again for the suggestion.

You found the trick toewe. Just cover your trigger valve assy. with a rag in one hand and then connect an air line to the nailer. The blast of air will force the valve out of the tool, (and sometimes halfway across garage ;) )

Thanks Genek. Yes, the rag is a good idea. Even at half the normal air pressure, the trigger came out very fast into my [U]protected[/U] hand. Cheers.
i have a question, i have one of these jokers and it drives the nail down to about 1/2" and bends the remainder of the nail over not fully driving the nail. Now at some points in the clip it may start fully driving the nails but when reload comes it starts with the falling short deal again. I wanted to ask this question before i bundle it up and ship it out for repairs. Thanks, Mike
The most common reason for a nail gun to bend the nail is a chip or worn edge on the driver. It slides off the nail and pushes it over. Either open and remove the driver or check it with trigger pulled (careful) if worn, just grind it flat, not removing any more than necessary. Ken
