Question: Generator

1103622

Hi my Porto cable bsi550-w is running but it's leaking fuel from the air filter What is the problem?
Todo
Question: Gen No Start

Todo

BSI550. Started with one pull today, as usual, over past 10 years. Ran for 2 hrs, but could not move out of 'choke' without stalling. Let it run for 1 more hour, then shut down to refuel. Would not restart. Suspect spark plug, but can't replace until I know what type and size of socket/rachet required. Can't find anywhere.

What type replacement spark plug is required?

Thanks in advance
Engine will not start. New spark plug, fuel valve open, has gas and oil. Will backfire on occasion when I pull the rope, but it won't start.

what size spark plug did you use to replace orginal? I'm having the same re-start problem, but haven't replaced plug in 10 yrs

The engine runs but don't have any power to the outlets and no breakers are tripped, is the problem the capacitor? And how do you test it?

Same problem with my BS1550.
Replaced diodes with ones from Radio Shack #276-1661. May be smaller than original amperage. Look for 10A07 diodes on line, probably $1 each. Pay attention to direction/markings on original and install new in same direction. Heat up old solder and blow it off with air hose to disassemble.

I also have no power coming from my outlets? My breakers tripped, I reset them and nothing. I already checked the diodes and they are both fine. How do I re-energize this unit???

The engine is running fine and the breaker is not tripped. I have no inlet power going to the electrical junction box. How do you test the capacitor? What else could the problem?
