First look at your 859179 brushes. If they are worn down to far you will get arcing and some heat build up. Then look at the armature if it is discolored wear the brushes contact and it smells like burnt insulation that is probably your problem. The only problem the armature is no longer available. But you have the option of having it rewound. There are quite a few rewind shops around the country. If the field windings are burnt that could be another cause.

Generally, that type number only comes into play when you're replacing the internals of a tool. They don't change the size of the blades between revisions.
