This is an authentic manufacturer sourced replacement piston stop. It is specially designed for use with Bostitch nailers. This part acts as a cushion when the piston retracts back into the cylinder after being fired. Because this part get so much abuse it has a tendency to crack and fall apart. Please note, this plastic part is sold individually. To complete this repair you will need a screwdriver set.

Removed the top of the nail gun and saw the the piston stop had broken. I completely cleaned the gun out and and installed the new stop in. It now works like new.

Screwdriver, Scotch-brite to clean the piston area.
I had a o-ring seal kit on the shelf. I found the old seal stuck and gunked up. I had to use scotch-brite to clean that surface before installing the new o-rings
For some reason I did not have a piston stop and I don't know how this nailer ever worked without it? After cleaning everything up, lubricating and installing all the parts, the nailer worked fine.

Nail gun leaking air

Parts Used
1) Removed nail gun top cap with allen wrench.
2) Separated gasket attached to cap.
3) Pulled out cover and spring from head cap, then removed damaged piston stop.
4) Cleaned out inside of head cap with soft cloth.
5) Installed new piston stop, spring and cover.
6) Placed new cap gasket on main body of nail gun.
7) Gently pushed head cap on to main body of nail gun, paying close attention to alignment of both.
8) Placed (4) fasteners with a drop of lock adhesive on each and tightened firmly.
