Product Description ?

This is a genuine Ryobi replacement part manufactured for use with 18v drill/drivers. The motor assembly is complete, and has a geared shaft to drive the gear box of the drill/driver. The motor has two terminals that connect to the two wire switch, the motor assembly is sold individually.

    Some what of an easy repair
    It would have been nice if I had instructions and then I would have not had a part left over although it seems to function OK. It probably would have went faster also.

    Replacement motor was ordered for the dewalt power driver .removed old motor soldered connectors reassembled new motor was a updated cross reference direct replacement with the correct drive gear already installed on the shaft.

    Opened drill
    Carefully remove gear assembly
    Remove burnt motor, cut wires
    Solder new motor to old wires.
    Install motor back, align gear assembly
    Instal housing and screws back
    Good as new

    Motor shorted out fromheavy use

    1. Disassembled drill
    2. Removed and tested trigger and motor
    3. Ordered replacement motor online
    4. Soldered new motor to existing wires in drill
    5. Greased, checked, tested gear assembly.
    6. Reassembled drill.
    7. Tested drill, worked perfectly.
    8. Mailed drill back to my son as a Father's Day gift!

    Remove the cover by undoing the screws
    De-solder the leads from the old motor.
    Remove the motor from the gear case by pulling it out when making sure you are not pulling out the gears
    Remove the plastic locking tab piece from the old motor
    Attach it to me motor
    Solder the wires back. Solder the red wire to positive lead marked with a red dot
    Locked the motor back in to gearbox
    Close the cover

    Disassemble cordless drill remove motor Solder wire leads to new motor reassemble drill (remove defective motor carefully from gear set)

    Motor squealing

    Screwdriver, soldering iron

    Remove case screws, un-solder old motor. You do not have to dismantle the gearbox, the motor will separate from it with a partial turn. Then remove the plastic piece from the old motor and attach to the new motor. Solder the wires onto the new motor, be sure red wire matches tab with red dot. Insert the motor into the gearbox and turn to lock. Reassemble.
