The Quik-Loc retainer which holds the blades in place was worn
The only difficulty I encountered was removing the clip which holds the retainer mechanism in position. The 'clip' fits into a grove on the reciprocal shaft. Unlike a 'C' clip this retainer encompasses the entire circumference of the shaft. I had to use a small (repeat SMALL) screwdriver to dislodge the clip. After removal of the clip the remaining parts are easily removable. eReplacement parts has a great video on the installation of this part also.-----http://www.ereplacementparts.com/article/1572/How_to_Change_the_Milwaukee_Sawzall_QUIKLOK_Blade_Clamp_Assembly_.html

Question: Sawzall Dead--switch Or Variable...
milwaukee sawzall corded, variable speed 6527-21 ser# 963B
Nothing happens when trigger is pulled; worked fine one minute, next minute it was dead. Tried different outlets, checked breaker, etc.
Pulled it apart and I seem to have continuity where I should, but it's hard to tell because the switch contacts are not exposed.
I suspect either the switch or the variable speed control; how do I figure out which it is? Do I just have to buy one, try it and if it doesn't solve the problem, buy the other part?

To save a lot of trouble just replace both.Chances are Milwaukee has updated the switch unit anyway so to do a clean repair replace both.Hope that helps.Good luck.
