Question: Milwaukee 6508 Sawzall

Time to replace a few parts on my Milwaukee 6508 Sawzall, plus it's starting to leak black goo. The diagram lists:

2-1/2 Oz. Type "B" Lubricant - Gear Case
1/2 Oz. Type "A: Lubricant - Bearing Plate/Intermediate Gear

I can't seem to find these available in the amount an end user (verse repair shop) would use. Is there a common name for these (like marine wheel bearing grease), authorized substitute or part number for smaller amount. Has anyone found a source for these lubricants?

Hi rcsec,
You can use Milwaukee Type S2 Grease part# 49-08-5265.For some reason over the years Milwaukee had a hundred different greases and most are N/L/A.We have used S2 in Milwaukee saws for years and never had a problem.Hope that helps.Good luck.

I have a sawsall that runs real slow and has no power. The vari speed switch has a resistance in the mega ohms or the electronic control is bad, I'm not sure. Can anyone give me some sort of direction.:confused: Also I cant seem to find a part # on any of the schematics for the control module
