Question: Hammer Drill Slips

jddoyle

I have a 5321-21 Rotary Hammer Drill/Chisel. Sometimes it works just fine, but sometimes when you start to drill in concrete it will drill for a while and then start to slip. What could the problem be?

I repair tools, and just from my experience I'd say its one of two things, either the shaft of your bit is wearing down, or possibly the gears inside the drill are wearing down. Hopefully that helps you!

hello! i was looking at the schematic for the Milwaukee 5321-21 rotary hammer and you commented that it won't run even on the highest setting, this unit is equipped with a electronic module that controls the motor but before dismissing the module you must first check the power cord and switch for continuity and the the carbon for wear or damage and also inspect the armature and field. good luck!

does the hammer drill actually sound like it runs, and doesn't turn, or doesn't it sound like it runs at all?

Oh, didn't read that right. I guess it does run! You are right, it has something to do with that clutch assembly! Just tore one apart, and it possiblely might be worn down teeth on the clutch assembly.
