I have a model 0222-1 drill with serial number 04330109XXXX. The parts list show switches as obsolete and not available. Is there another drill that uses the same switch that is available?

I'm not the Milwaukee know all guy but if it were my drill I would try a part number 23 66 2148. They seem to be the switch of choice for the 0222-1 type drills.

Hello 1484172,

Check your serial number again. I don't see any 0222-1 Drills with a serial number staring with 04330109XXXX. It should start with a 430

I have a Milwaukee Model 0222-1 elec. 3/8 drill. I have a new power cord. I have opened the grip and exposed the wires that go into the trigger. The black and white from the cord look like they push into the trigger housing. I thing the wires get stripped and tinned with solder. I can't figure out how to release the old wires from the trigger housing. Is there a button or tab you push and it releases the wires? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi jshurt,
What you have is a trap door connector and the best way to open it and free the ware is take a small paper clip or pin and stick down along side the wire going in to the switch and this will open the trap door and allow you to pull the wire from the switch.Tin your new wire and just push it in the hole and you should be ready to go.Hope that helps.Good luck.

Question: Chuck Replacement

Tony

I have this Milwaukee drill Model 0222-1 and I would like to put a keyless chuck on it but I can't get the old chuck off. Can you tell me how to do this? Thank you

Question: Electric Cord

John

How do the wires on the Electrical Cord disconnect from the Speed Control Switch?

Hi John,

Milwaukee uses a type of quick clamp on many of their switches so that the wires can be installed quickly and easily. They can be a little tricky to disconnect however. What you will need to do is find a small, straight pick, like a dentists tool. You might even be able to use a T shaped push pin, the type used in many hobbies and crafts. You will take the pick or push pin and slide it next to the wire and down into the hole where the wire is held in the switch. The pick should release the internal clamp in the switch and allow the wire to slide out. You may have to wiggle the pick a bit or try a couple of times before the wire will release.

Hope this helps you get those wires out!

-Mark
This is the best drill I have ever owned. It has out lasted many other drills I have owned.
