I have a Makita MAC2200 air compressor that has been sitting for a while. I went to use it and it will only build about 20 lbs of pressure. I figure it can only be the valve plate, check valve or pressure switch. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

I worked at Makita for 16 years. First, check your air filter for clogging (dust), then the valve plate in the head, then make sure your check valve is working properly, and then verify the cylinder head for wear on the piston head.

I deal with alot of tools in my line of work but i have not seen any thing so useless as the makita compressor every one i know hase nothing but problems with them so i have recomendid the hitachi too every one contractors tha have them have no problems with them my last experianc with a makita compressor was three weeks old and it would not work so i took it back and they said id have to buy another one so i will not buy a another makita tool ever
