Is there a trick to reattaching the Garter Spring to the Brush holders? The wires are so short I had to do it with chopstick thru the back, after the field was in place. But just incase i have to do it again I could use some advice. It may be that the Brush Holders can come out, I couldn't to it and didn't want to break them.

I recently replaced the field in my LS1013FL miter saw and forgot to take a picture when I disassembled the controller. Does anyone know where the white wire, coming from the controller goes? Does it get wired with the Black or Orange wire from the Field, or somewhere else?

I called Makita and they said I could use WD40 to lubricate the guide rails - Don't do this - they rusted within a week and the saw would not slide. I contacted Makita again and ended up talking to a specialist who did a wonderful job of fixing the saw and very little expense to me.

I have found item # 136 has worn a groove into the base #156 and the saw will no longer remain in a non detented angle when tightening the swivel clamp. Any ideas on how to fill in the groove on the base?

I have a model LS1013F Slide Compound saw. According to your parts list, I need parts no. 19, 20, and 21 to go through part no. 18....BUT, I also need the pin that goes through the housing above it, for which you show no part number. Somehow this pin got damaged and the stop ring (probably an e-5) will not hold on it. Can you determine which part I am talking about and how can I get one to go with parts 19 - 21?
