Hello,
The overload protection or circuit breaker in that charger does have a history of wearing out after quite a while of use. You can replace the circuit board part number 631254-4. That is a easy repair and will take care of your problem.

It could be a bad battery. A local repair shop should be able to test that for you. If the battery is good then the charger has probably gone bad. I would suggest replacing the charger with on of Makita's newer models such as the DC1804.

hello i need some help
my charger is not working i try to fine what is the problem my conclusion is the transformer T2 are not working
my question is that i want to find replacement transformer but i didn't fined any information on that transformer particular i know only the input power (120vac)
can you give me more details such as : output power and current
in the output transformer notceable that there is three joint (R.Y.BL)
the charger dtails are input 115V 44W 50-60HZ
output DC9.6V DC12V 1.5A
