Help me Spot My Kohler Model Number
Finding the model number on Kohler products ranges from very easy to pretty hard. In some cases you can find it clearly printed. In others, you’ll need to disassemble fixtures to know what you’re working with. And that’s just plumbing. Kohler also manufactures engines, and if you need parts for one of those, you’ll need to know where to look. Check out some of these popular places for model numbers:
On Kohler engines, you should see a silver tag just below the starter housing. The tag should clearly list the model number and spec number (like a type), both of which you’ll need to get the right parts for your Kohler engine.
On Kohler toilets, first search for a four-digit (beginning with 3 or 4) number molded into the china on the inside of your tank. It may also be marked in blue or black ink. You can also check underneath the toilet-tank lid to find model numbers.
Look for faucet model numbers on the cold-water supply line under your sink. You’ll see a white tag saying “cold” on one side and will have your product number on the other side. This is your model number.
For bypass shower doors, check for a sticker up inside the top track. For hinge/pivot doors, look behind the hinge.
Check underneath your cast-iron sink for a number starting with 97 or 87. You model number will follow one of these numbers (e.g.: 975942 is model number 5942). You may also see a model number with a ‘K’ in front of it.
If you still can’t find your model number, don’t worry! Just give us a call and one of our techs will gladly help you find it.

I am impressed with your feedback on this, how nice it is to get a confirmation. It is rare that a business would pay attention to the details I order a lot of materials, equipment supplies and parts on the Internet and I can count on one hand the number of businesses that provide that kind of attention to customers. I am looking forward to doing business with you now and in the future.
Kohler was founded in 1873. They originally made farm tools, furniture castings, and even crosses for cemeteries. In 1883 they added porcelain to a horse trough and created their first bathtub. Since then, they’ve been a leader in the kitchen and bathroom fixture business.
