This knob helps to dispense the cutting string. Rotate the knob on the string head to wind the string. Wind the string until approximately 8" remains protruding from the string head. This knob is made out of plastic and it is sold individually.

You sent the wrong part twice!
I will never order another part from this seller ever again. It's only a $3 item, but after sending me the same wrong part twice I give up. I even asked the customer service person to repeat back the number and I still got the wrong one. 3 weeks and I still have a broken line trimmer.

After a while your trimmer parts wear out and you need to replace them, Easy fix, order parts and when you get them install them. To install the cover just press it in, then just thread the knob in.

Pressed the two tabs inward and pulled the black ring from the hub. Inserted the new button in the line reel and re-installed the black retaining ring.
Repair complete.
The rest of the parts will be installed onto my other weed eater as a complete unit. These hub assemblies are the easiest to re-string of any that I have ever used.

Knob was worn beyond being able to use on trimmer,

I lost the cable release button so I ordered the replacement button placed it on the cable release spindle and locked it down With the button/ spindle clip.
