  • Too long Delivery!
The part ordered was fabulous, but it took way too long to deliver it, can't wait this long to get parts, I have too many repairs on the bench at one time!

    Fit and worked as intended.
My saw never had this spike installed (must have been an option) so I wasn't sure what would be needed to install. Turns out, no problem, saw was prepared for this accessory.

Chainsaw kill switch lever broke./ Install new spikes.

    Ferdinand - November 11, 2022
    Tool Type

    Chain Saw

    Difficulty

    Easy

    Time

    15-30 minutes

    Tools Used

    Screwdriver, Pliers, Power Drill, Nutdriver

    Replace kill switch lever.
    1. Removed engine cover
    2. Used nut driver to remove switch lever being careful not to brake metal spring with kill wire attached.
    3. Installed new switch lever while carefully reinstalling spring with kill wire.
Note: there is no reason to remove carburetor to perform this repair.
    Installation of spike
    1. Remove clutch cover, bar and chain.
    2. Place spikes on area provided on saw.
    3. Drive the short screw into one of the holes provided on the saw. Note: one of the screws provided with the part is not correct for my application(Husqvarna 240)! Had to drill the upper hole location with a drill bit no larger than pilot hole and provide my own short screw.
    4. Make spike screws snug. Do not over tighten as you can strip the plastic on the saw!
