Question: Flex Shaft Breaks

I have put two flex shafts in my weed trimmer. It acts like something is causing it to get in a bind and they break. I was told that there was a bearing in the end of the shaft that was getting hot and causing this to happen.

The starter rope won't retract back into the starter. If I turn the end of the weedeater it will go back in. It is hard to pull.

The housing, spool, etc. came off while in use. The flex-shaft sprung out as well. I could not put the parts back together. If I order a flex-shaft, will it include the part that attaches it to the housing?

Best trimmer I have ever owned. Paid $69 new and the only problem after 5 years is the fuel filter comes off, big deal it needed to be changed any way!
