Not your fault it failed. But the owner's manual (Mikita) had a very small diagram and absolutely no instructions on how to replace part. Installed it the best I could (several attempts), Thought I finally had it right but the blade ripped it apart again. Live and learn, I guess.

    Easy ordering, quick shipment=happy customer!
I am always skeptical when looking for replacement parts. My husband is a handy guy and can fix anything, but parts are not always available. This turned out to be a satisfying venture! Not only did we find the correct part, but it was IN STOCK and ready to be shopped. It arrived in a quick few days. Very grateful!

Removed 2 screws that hold the guard retaining bracket in place
Removed screw that holds the long metal piece that moves the rear translucent guard
Disassembled the hex bolt and screw on the old guard that holds the guard to the retaining bracket
Removed spring from the old guard
Transfer above parts to new guard and assemble in reverse order
Make sure saw is unplugged when doing any of the above as it is impossible to make this repair without getting your fingers close to the blade

Rear blade guard had been damaged while cutting a piece of hardwood that exploded. Only injury was to the guard.

Removed all of the blade guards and 10"- 80T sawblade. All that wasn't really nessasary, I do that to check for more or hidden damage, matainance and cleaning. Other than three broken teeth on the blade and the broken off guard, everythiing else was in fine shape. The rear guard is the last thing to come off and most often, the first thing to go on. Reinstalled all the new and existing parts, made a few final adjustments and double checked the torque on the blade bolt. Tested and complete in less than 30 minutes.
