Primer bulb cracked, decided to rebuild carburetor
The 12538108660 Primer bulb was split. While I had it apart I figured I\'d rebuild the carburetor. The job was straight forward and easily accomplished with the help of ereplacement parts website. They have a nice tutorial on how to rebuild carburetors. - http://www.ereplacementparts.com/article/6766/How_to_Rebuild_a_TwoCycle_Engine_Carburetor.html

blower would not run
Remove carburetor, take apart completely. put into a ultrasonic cleaner using simple green 10 to 1 with tap water. Warm water works best. Remove, blow out all openings and install new carb kit. When replacing hi and low needle valves both should come out one and a half turns from closed position to start. Blower started right up works like new.

My Echo Blower when running leaks fire from the coil wire and around the spark plug cap. I've even touched the wire with my palm and I get a shock. Can I put a shrink wrap cover around the wire and stop the leaking wire.

Hello rlwagtc You can certainly TRY that, but eventually a new coil module will probably be needed.
Hello- I have an Echo PB-2100 Blower. I can start it, but it will not get to full speed and the muffler area has quite a bit of oil on it. It runs a bit better without the air filter, so I was thinking the mixture was rich, but don't know much about small engines and now realize it must have something to do with the muffler. Any ideas? Thanks, -Steve

Question: Looks Different

teekay02

The carb shown has the same numbers, but it different than the OE one I need to replace.

On mine the Low and High needle valves are separated by a third hole that has a black faux "needle".

Just want to be sure your ZAMA carb is the one I need for my PB 2100: it's been rebuilt twice and still bogs down and shuts off after 5 minutes running.

Of important note here is the orientation of the throttle cable on the carb. Zama rotary barrel carbs have a brass swivel on TOP of the carb. The throttle cable has an enlarged end to catch on the swivel, so do your research BEFORE you get the wrong carb if you decide to get one. Have you been able to ADJUST the high and low mixture screws any? They have unorthodox heads on them but can be turned with a simple wire connector. I guarantee you the carb is set lean if you have not.
The fact that it runs for five minutes tells me that it is doing one of two things 1. Dying from fuel starvation 2. Eventually loading up with TOO much fuel and becoming too rich for the engine to deal with.

Hello teekay02,

Just to answer your question. I did look at the 12520020564 Carburetor. And your description is the same.

Carburetor issues are not always the Carb , Check your Crankcase seals . especially since you just rebuilt your carb. I wasted my time rebuilding mine, then even changed it with a new one. the machine still was hard to start , and would bog down. I discovered it was the main seals of the engine . after changing them. the machine runs brand new , even with the old carburetor . crankcase pressure/vacuum test 2 stroke engines , before you spend money on carbs.

quick test , remover starter cover , is there oil in there . if so your rear seal is leaking. this is not end all al check , do a crankcase pressure check.

I recently installed kit 12530020560. I also installed a new fuel filter and new air filter. I can get the blower started but to keep it running I have to manipulate the choke to keep it running. I need a little help please!

Hello page,

I don't know if you did this or not. But when you install any type of repair kit it is always advisable to thoroughly clean the carburetor. The small passageways can get dirty or clogged. We do have an article and video on How to Clean a 2 Cycle Engine Carburetor.

Hope this helps,

Hello Alexander,

First check your spark plug, making sure you do have a spark. The best way to do this is with a spark plug tester found in most big box stores. You may also have a dirty or clogged carburetor. We have a video and article on how to clean it properly. Here is a link to it. How to Clean a 2 Cycle Engine Carburetor. You may also want put in a 12530020560 repair kit. And a new 13120507320 fuel filter.

That sounds like the carburetor needs to be rebuilt. The rebuilt kit is part #12530020560. We have a video that might help with the repair. http://www.ereplacementparts.com/article/6766/How_to_Rebuild_a_TwoCycle_Engine_Carburetor.html

Question: Primer Bulb

1093453

I disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled the carburetor as outlined in your video. Changed the primer bulb along the way. Seem to have flow through all ports before tightening down plate holding bulb. After tightening, I can't get any fuel to move when pushing the bulb and the resistance on the bulb feels almost airtight. Any ideas?

Question: Carb Choke

doiturself

The first thing that broke on my Echo PB-2100 was the Carb Choke lever. I dont see it on the parts list or drawings. In fact a few parts shown have no part listed below by the item number, and a few are listed wrong by item number (A10, 11 & 12 for example). How can I replace my choke lever?

Question about the rope reel on the blower.the cord comes out not all the way and does start but takes a lttle before catching the pawl assembly. Which I replaced already. Does anyone think it could be the rope reel? With the little nubs not catching? They reall don't look bad what are your thoughts. Thanks!!

Question: Echo PB 2100 Carburetor

Priming bulb does not pull gas from tank. I have checked bulb, filter and gas line which are good. The bulb moves air through the return hose. Is there a check valve I am missing?

Thanks

I would guess that the carb will need to be rebuilt. Sometimes the gas that is left in the carb will become varnish like and stick the reed valves to the carb body. When this happens the fuel can't flow though the carb. Rebuilding the carb will fix the problem. The rebuild kit is part #12530020560.

I hope this helps,

Where does the fuel tank vent connector go? It comes out of the tank grommet, but I do not see where it reconnects at other end.

It just sits under the carb area open to the air. It doesn't attach to anything.
