Remove three screws holding circuit board cover in place
Unsolder existing power cord leads from circuit board
Solder new power cord wires in place.

If you have not worked with electrical circuit boards and soldering in the past, DO NOT attempt this repair yourself. While not difficult, heat transfer CAN destroy board components if one is not particularly careful.

Question: Dremel 6300 Field

mmciamarra

I need to replace the Dremel 6300 Field. What is the best way to remove it? I don't want to order the replacement Field if I brake the tool removing the original Field.

Question: Dremel Multimax 6300 Repair

1203554

Greetings, I've bypassed the on/off switch on my multimax to troubleshoot why it cuts on off while in use. Well, unfortunately i did not take some pics of the wiring connections to the armature / coil before i did the repair. I actually unsoldered the switch and soldered the switch wires together. Now it only works at what seems to be the lowest speed even though I rotate the speed control to 10..( I should take it to 11 - This is Spinal tap...LOL:rolleyes:). Anyway I want to make sure I have the black and red wires connected correctly. anyone have an insight into these connections they can share or a pic please?.
Thanks

I have the same troubles. But I did take some pics. If you are willing to assist, I'd be happy to send you some of my pictures of the opened unit, I would like to be sure I knew which of the switch wires to hook together. I don't have a concern for the speed, since I intend to rewire it to 11, skipping the rest altogether. LOL.

I took mine apart and clean all the crud out, and reassembled, and nothing changed. After I tore it apart more completely, I made sure I had pictures so I would return wires to their correct place. It was at this point, once I had the brushes and wires removed, I came to find that the switch on the outside wasn't the switch, but an extension and the sneaky switch was hiding in plain sight all along. After wiggling and poking and prodding, I determined that either it was toasted inside, or the heat might've softened the structure that secures it to the chassis, and now it will not stay still firmly enough.
So I reassembled again, and again, nothing was as I hoped. Finally, after much searching I found your post, and giving a good deal of appreciation to your recognition of the words of Nigel who sums up what every amplifier and audio engineer have yet to accomplish: a volume knob that reaches the unattainable and elusive 11. This is double amusing, I just realized as I'm writing this that today is in fact the eleventh day of the eleventh month. (Nov 11, '13)
So anyhow, I hope you might get this and take moment to read and respond.

Cheers,
Stephen

Question: Blade Vibrating Loose

porkchop

Sorry ... I meant ... Something special about the original WASHER design?

Question: Blade Vibrating Loose

1159854

Dremel 6300 blade vibrated loose and lost the original washer. Replacement washer of the same size allows the blade to vibrate loose and come off within seconds, repeatedly, despite the allen screw being tightened properly. Is there something special about the original screw design?

Are there any other dremel carbon-brush sets that are compatible with the dremel 6300? I see they have been discontinued for the multi max.

Who makes this (3-pin) variable resistor used in the Dremel 6300? One of the solder pins broke (fatigue) off and this is the second time.
