Discussion for the DeWALT DW704 TYPE 1 12 Inch Miter Saw
I recently had to tear down my miter saw to replace a bearing. Then i noticed the Spindle also needed replaced. Does anyone know were i can get a replacement one for my saw ?????
Thanks
As you well know the 284945-00 Dewalt Spindle Upgrade Kit is no longer available. You may just have to keep searching on line to see if any exist out there. If I can find any more information I will let you know.
Can you tell me which bolt I need to center and hold the blade in place. Currently I am just eyeballing it and bolting it down tightly, but believe I am missing a part to hold it centered down.
Your DeWalt mitersaw doesn't have any oil in it but it does have grease in the gearbox. If the saw becomes very hot, either from use or from sitting in the sun, the grease can breakdown and become liquid. Because the saw was not built to have oil in it, there are no gaskets and seals to contain it and the liquefied grease leaks out of the saw. To repair you will need to disassemble the gearbox. Clean out the remainder of the grease. Then repack the gearbox with fresh grease and reassemble.
The grease is part #790206-00 and is available from http://ereplacementparts.com.
