I have a Dewalt model DW130 and the chuck broke off. It looks like the spindle has threads on the end of it. The pictures I see do not show any threads or screws to hold the chuck on the spindle. The threaded part is broke off inside the chuck and I'm not sure how to get it out! Is this a right hand thread or left? I will buy a new spindle ($25) but the chuck is expensive and if i can't get the piece out of the chuck I'll buy a new drill. Thanks, Mike
Hey Mike,
The first thing you want to do is remove the reverse thread screw that holds the chuck on [if it has one.. turn to the right] Then just wedge a screwdriver tip or easy out in the center or the spindle and it should turn out very easy [to the left]..on some models just trying to remove the screw removes the shaft also..:)
hope this is helpful..

This chuck does not have screw in it. The spindle appears to have OD threads and the chuck threads onto it. I have never seen a drill without a screw in the chuck. The pictures show the splindle but not any threads. It looks like the threads are right hand from what I can see. It is Dewalt model DW130 type 1. Thanks Mike
