Question: Blade Clamps

the 40-251 quik blade lock. Will it replace the upper clamp . I got a used ss250 and parts of the upper blade lock are missing . I was going to but the pieces that are missing , but I saw this and can't find a description of it to see if it will replace what I don't have.

The 40-251 blade clamp will work fine to replace the upper clamp on your saw. It is very easy to install and comes with everything you will need to replace the upper blade clamp. You can order the 40-251 blade clamp from http://ereplacementparts.com.

Question: Variable Speed Stopped

I have a Delta ss250 type 1. It will only run on a very high speed. I do not see a variable speed switch.
Can any tell me what this could be?

Most likely your control board has gone out. It is item #61 on the parts diagram. See link below...

Question: Scroll Saw Help

:confused:I recently purchased an almost new, used, Delta ss250 type 1 Shopmaster Scroll saw. I didn't get the manual with it and I'm having trouble getting the blade to lock in place and I also broke the small square spring and had to order a replacement. Can anyone help me with this\? This is my first scroll saw and I'm not sure how it all works to hold the blade in.

Hey bob,
I have worked on a few of these and the feedback i get from customers is that it takes a while to learn exactly how to keep the tension correct on the blade and that it also depends on the blade and the type of wood..! ugh :)
as far as the clamping part..you may want to install the new quickset blade chuck lock assy [unless you already have it..] part # 40-251 avail at ereplacementparts.com..

OVERALL, I LIKE THE SS250, BUT I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THE AIR NOZZLE SETUP. IT IS HARD TO POSITION AND DOES NOT ALLOW FOR MINOR ADJUSTMENTS TO BE DONE QUICKLY. I HAVE RESORTED TO BLOWING THE SAWDUST OUT OF THE WAY.
