Rockwell Delta Chop Saw parts

My father owns a crate shop and has a Rockwell Delta chop saw, 20-100 that he thinks is about 25 years old. He is looking to replace the large spring that holds the saw in position but has been unable to locate a replacement spring. Is there a spring that might be compatable with this saw that he could use? Any info would be much appreciated. Thank you....
