Noticed water leaking from unit. upon removing cover, could see it was the generator assembly
Removed and replaced generator assembly. Instructions and video from eReplacementParts.com was extremely helpful. The unit in the video was a slightly different model, but we were able to complete the repairs by using the video and written instructions. The video even gave helpful hints which were right on the money. http://www.ereplacementparts.com/article/14561/How_to_Replace_the_Generator_Pump_on_a_DeLonghi_Magnifica_Espresso_Machine.html
What is the difference in the control board vs. the PC board for this model?
My machine will occasionally not respond to buttons, sometimes it will turn it itself off after a "self diagnosis" message and other times, it decides to make itself a cup of coffee without anyone being around it LOL The machine will start grinding/ brewing as if you had pressed a button and occasionally will ask for you to reprogram quantity of each of the cup sizes.
Just need to know which controller that may be. Thanks
After descaling my ESAM 3500, I received an error message that ground was to fine, and to change the grind, and hit the ok button - after numerous attempts, I called Delonghi. Their recommendation was to fill the cappuccino tank with water, and to then press the clean button - after doing this a number of times, the machine still would not prime - the Delonghi solution was to send it in for repair. A friend of mine, has the same machine, and this also happened to him - if anyone has a"fix" it would be geatly appreciated
The reason why you are getting this error is that its not detecting water flow. More often then not its because there is a clog some place. Most often the clog is right where the heating element and the tubing connect or even inside the heating element. Check that first and if you cant find the clog then take it into a service center.
