The purpose of an insert is to reduce splintering on the cuts. It also helps to prevent pieces of wood from getting stuck between the blade and the plate. Please note, one plastic dado insert is included per order.

What I Needed
Looks just like an OEM part for my Rigid table saw, fits perfect, holes in the right place, even the right color. But....the screw holes weren't counter-sunk, which is required so the work doesn't get caught up on them. I counter-sunk the holes myself, and problem solved. But, this should be done at the factory.

Just insert the small nubs on the paddle into the holes provided on the switch panel. And place the dado insert into the table when you need it.
