Product Description ?

This is a Genuine Manufacturer Approved replacement part used on certain Milwaukee Hammer Drill. This Assembly includes Plastic Holder, Four (4) Metal Holders, Four (4) Carbon Brushes, Two (2) Wire Leads, Four (4) Springs.

Carbon motor brushes are one of the most commonly replaced power tool components. Because carbon brushes are wear items, meaning that through friction and use they will gradually wear away, they will eventually require replacement. Worn brushes are common causes of intermittent motor function, reduced electric braking, and reduced motor power. A worn out brush will often be worn down near the wire lead and may be cracked, pitted, or burned. When replacing carbon brushes, be sure to also inspect your armature for burns, cracks, or other damage which indicates a larger motor problem.

Took rear panel off and everything was right there. Pretty self explainable for what you need to do. I reused the wires coming from the switch so I didn't have to un solder the old wires and re solder the new one's.

Brushes wore down and messed up the armature.

    Tools Used

    Screwdriver, Pliers, Nutdriver, Soldering gun

The project wan't really 'hard' but the person needs basic mechanical skills and be patient.
The drill has to be almost completely dismantled to replace the carbon brush field and the difficult part of that was to disconnect(the soldering) the wires and resolder the new wires to the on-off switch.
Again, with basic electrical and mechanical skills it can be done. The parts can be purchased for about a third the cost of a new drill. Reassemble requires patience
and not force it or the person will strip out the screw threads. Works like new and
getting ready to do another Milwaukee(the best) cordless drill.
