Apparently so I am dealing with the same issue. Mine broke after 6 mows. I sent it in for warranty repair and I still haven't got it back because the part is on Factory Back Order. Which tells me they know it's an issue and are trying to fix it. So it's been 3 months and counting with out a mower I bought in MAY!

Yes. It is VERY COMMON for this peice of crap mower. And, the price for the replacement part is about 4 times too high. Don't bother with this. Set the mower at the end of your driveway and hope some fool will steal it. Good Luck.

My cable broke two weeks into the season, I called weed eater and they sent me a replacement thet had metal clip ends instead of plastic...much better.

in two seasons I replaced three front tires/tubes. had to come from China--valve stems weak and dryrotted. FAIL FAIL FAIL. plastic part in steering assembly broke--of course, 17 days to get the replacement part--it was metal. should have been METAL from the beginning. idiots. making a key pressure point in the mower out of plastic. idiots. the part should have been GIVEN to me. I paid $17 shipping. pirates. NOW the transaxle assembly is trash and you have to buy the 'assembly'--#307 change. over half the cost of the mower.
