How do you get the top off of the machine? I took three screws out, and the back lifts up but can't get the front portion off to remove the entire top.

gordyd Hello Fernie,

Fernie Thanks gordyd! I stuck a phillips screwdriver up there and it felt like it was seated in the screw but although I turned many times, the screws do not come out on either side. Still working on it........

gordyd Hi again Fernie, My Cafe Roma does not produce enough steam to froth milk. I did descale it 2x but it has been getting worse. everything seems to be heating up just fine except there is no pressure to push the espresso through the cups. I've tried all three sizes and even steamed them clean. It will only drip out instead of the steady stream it used to have. WHEN I MAKE COFFEE, WATER COMES OUT FROM UNDERNEATH

Tim My daughter just bought one of these for my wife and had the same problem. After much diagnostic taking it apart, I found the silicon tube that goes from the pump to the heating element has a crack in it on one end. Not sure which part it is above, do not see it to be honest. I am headed to home depot to see if I can find a tube with a couple of hose clamps. do you carry a Breville ESP8XL 800ESXL Filter Holder Cafe Roma DieCast? When we turn on the cafe roma, it takes forever to heat up...and then there is no steam...and when we run the coffee through it cools down before the coffee is through...not sure which part to order.

John C I had this same problem, what I found was the interconnect on the left hand-back side of part 101 was burned out due to to it being improperly seated during manufacturing, which led to an extremely high current density and the melting of the interconnect. You can drill out the rivet and solder on or mechanically attach a new interconnect (not available on the drawings individually, they want you to buy part 101, go to Lowes) and reconnect the wire. Breville support was useless and claimed it was just the machine getting old, maybe if their QC was better they could avoid this kind of failure. Decent machine other than this, needs a stronger pump though.

AJN JOHN C Part 156 shows "o ring for part 155". My machine appears to have an O ring at the top of steam socket for 155 and a square section ring at the bottom of the socket. I lost the bottom ring so I need to replace it. Does part 156 include both of these rings? Thank you for your help. |
