I have a Bosch 5412L dual bevel compound slide mitersaw and I am having problems aligning the blade. I bought it used and had to replace the blocks in the slide, but I still cannot get the blade to adjust to run true. It always cuts at a slight bevel, can anyone give me some advise on how to adjust it correctly?

(I don't have one of these saws myself. The 12" saws are too scary. I have a Craftsman 10 inch sliding miter saw, which is almost identical to the Kobalt 10 inch sliding miter saw at Lowes.)

Yes, I have tried what is in the manual, I found that online as well. The problem I am having, if you have read the instructions on calibrating the blade at 0 degrees, it the blade is perfectly square in the down position, as the blade comes up, it comes up at an angle. So I can not get a 90 degree cut. I have tried adjusting the slide blocks and recalibrating and keep getting the same problem. Its like there is a twist in the head of the unit, but it is made out of pot metal and would surely crack if it was bent that far out of wack. I read the other post as well, and maybe it is the bushings that hold the blade, but I would think that the angle would change depending on the position of the blade but it is always the same. About a 1/8 inch off in 4 inches. Down all the way perfectly square, up 4 inches and the blade is away from the square about an 1/8th of an inch.

Hello, have you been able to find a solution anywhere? I have the EXACT same problem. Mine moves to the left at a slant as the blade is lowered.

I have a Bosch 5412L saw and when I pull the power trigger nothing happens. It's a relatively new saw. I took the handle apart where the trigger is and noticed that the switch has a black, white and gray wire attached to it.

With the switch off:
* black wire has 124V
* white wire 0V
* gray wire 0V

With the switch on:
* black wire has 124V
* white wire 124V
* gray wire has 0V

From the wiring diagram found on this site, it looks like the gray wire goes to the stator, the white goes to the stator then another white wire goes from the stator to the armature.

Is the gray wire suppose to have voltage with the trigger ON? It seems to me that it must or what else would it be used for?

Just want to make sure that sounds like the problem before I buy a part I don't need.
