I use the router in a table mounted configuration. The router was running fine, but I had not inspected the brushes since I bought it about 8 years ago (useage hours about 100). I gained access to the brushes and they were fine, so I reassembled and attempted to turn it on. It would not turn on at all. I have ordered a new switch which I have not received yet. I have accessed the switch and note one connection is soldered. Can anyone offer tips on installing this switch.

How can I troubleshoot speed control?

Is there a vacuum adapter, to fit in the space where the shield is located, on a 1617evs router when it is used in a router table?

My router won't power on. It quit working suddenly. No prior problems. The brushes look good. Any help is appreciated very much. Merry x-mas.

My 1617 EVS router motor just will not start. The plug looks ok. I took the cap off the housing and the wires look solidly connected. I bought it as a reconditioned kit. After about 20 hours of use I had trouble turning it on. Then it would not come on. I took it to a local tool repair guy that I have used for 20 years. 1st he sent for the wrong part put then finally fixed it. I used it for a total of about 12 hours and now it will not come on again. I am upset. I thought maybe I should just get the motor since I built a router table and other set ups around this model, but they do not seem to be available for less $ than a whole new router. Maybe the motor is rebuilt because someone dropped it in the ocean or something, but it looks brand new, it just will not come on.
