Question: Bosch 11234VSR Doesn't Hammer We...

I purchased a very used Bosch 11234VSR Hammer Drill on Ebay. I need to drill holes for 3/16" TAPCON concrete screws. Easy job - right? Wrong! I purchased a brand new Bosch 2011 bit. The drill rotates fine (plenty of torque) but the hammer just clicks, and I can't get my holes drilled. After finding this site online, I was very ecouraged to see the excellent post on the Bosch 11236VSR drill by "cmoorejack" on possible O ring fix.

1). Any tips for reconditioning the hammer?
2). Where can I find a Repair manual?

I've taken other drills apart and sometimes have wound up with getting it back together just fine or reassembled with a smoking motor or too much friction, and definitely gear grease all over my hands. I'm not afraid to take apart just about anything, usually successfully.

Hey Mrfixit,
Taking it apart and reassembling sometimes is all you need..new grease,brush's o-rings that sort of thing..you can download an owner's manual at link removed on service and then owner's manual> but it sounds like you may have a shifter problem [just clicks] and it is not shifting into hammer drill all the way..[shifter is broken on the inside] the parts breakdown should show you where to align the shifter to remove.[it needs to be removed to disassemble anyway]..that may be all you have to do..:)
