Hey mtrtbldr,
I haven't had any experience with this one part and could not locate it in an exploded view..but most of the time parts are engineered to fit only one way..however, if you are dealing with flat surfaces such as washers or spacers it may not matter which way they go..look for surface wear to match parts..and remember, if it wont go back together it probably isn't in right or if it does fit back together but doesn't work correctly its not in right..ugh :)
Hope this is helpful..?

Hey cmoorejack, Part # 154 is easy to find in the exploded view. It fits between part #51, and part #99 and fits in the impact housing. It definitaly has a shape, so I assume that it fits only one way, but seems to fit either way just fine. (I am not wanting to hear a crunch when I turn it on), If you have any wisdom on this, please let me know.

He mtrtbldr,
oops there it is..[time for reading glasses dang it] from what I can tell from the LARGER breakdown at Bosch Tools..the side that has more raised surface would face #51..[if both sides of # 154 is identical then of course it can go in any way]
hope this helps..?

Thanks for your help. I just needed confirmation. I have been out of the country so It has taken me a while to pick this up. Thanks again. RR
I own a Bosch sds max rotery hammer. It has been a real work horse, but even though it runs well, it has stopped hammering, and is not much good without that feature. I have taken it apart, only damaged one seal, but did not see anything that jumped out at me as a problem. I plan to order the service pack #848, the seal #109, and possibly the new improved shifter part, #848. Before I order, am I on the right track?
Yes your on the right track. Give it a good cleaning, I would get the service kit. The seal comes in the service kit. A new lever should come in the service kit as well. Pay close attention, when you lube the piston and striker. Just a very fine film of grease. This is where most people make the mistake of to much lube. Run the tool before you put the seal back in. In case somethings not right. Hope this helps.
I am working on a Bosch 11 227E (611227 139) The diagram is not clear on which way part #154 goes into the machine. I presently have it so that the larger end is facing the tool holder end of the drill, as opposed to the crankshaft. Something tells me that I have it backwards. When I took it apart, it seemed that it was held in with old grease. It sits in kind of a cradle, but I see nothing that keeps it from moving. Am I OK?
