You just grab it with the pliers and pull up hard, to force the clip ends out of the hole. Then just snap in the new one (push into hole). I bought two of these little parts (three bucks each) so I\'d have one around when the current one wears out. If you don\'t keep an eye on this (you\'ll know it\'s gone bad when the string won\'t auto-feed), it will wear out the supporting flange supporting it (it swivels on top of the flange) and you will have to replace the whole motor/string housing (welded to the motor).
