That is called a security screw. Some manufactures will use this type of screw to make the tool tamper proof. I can't tell by the image if it is a Torx Security Bit or a Hex Pin Security Bit. You might try a local nut and bolt supplier in your area for the the correct driver.

Where can I get the proper screwdriver to remove the casing on the SC500 saw?
I thought for sure it was a T20 star screw but it doesn't fit snugly and I don't want to strip them.
