I left my B&Decker pw100 power washer in an outdoor shed over the winter. It froze and broke the hose connector inside the housing. Is it likely the whole pump is destroyed, or this a simple repair?

Hi, my husband has a blacker & decker 1600psi type 1 pressure washer and the piece that is the soap injector connects to that unscrews from the motor is broken and I can't seem to find a replacement for it, is it possible to locate this piece or is this one of the pieces that can't be replaced and you have to buy a new pressure washer?

Hi Richard,

The piece you refer to is part of the main pump unit. Unfortunately the manufacture does not offer any parts for the pump unit.

Thank you,

Does anybody have a solution to this problem? MY B&D pressure washer is only a year old and the cheap plastic threads are stripped. Any advice (other than get a different unit)?

Question: Pw 1600 Leaking Oil

Dan

I used my PW1600 to power wash a large section of fence and when I got through there were large patches of oil or hydraulic fluid on my grass. Does anyone know if these units need service or have an oil reserve that needs replenishment? I ran the thing for about 4 hours continuous which may be a little more than it could handle. It does seem to still work OK but didn't want it to seize if it needs oil/lubricants.

Question: Broken Hose Connection

Sattie

Where the hose is connected that piece broke off from the inside. I have gone to the distributor for parts and they do not have that piece. I have gone to Sears parts services and they do not know what the parts number is to look it up. They claim it is old parts number 5140020-08 which is the switch, which it's not is the hose connection that brings the water in to the tank I think. Please help me because I love this unit. It is so easy to handle and not complicated.

Question: Pressure

My pressure washer comes on and runs but never builds up any pressure. The parts picture does not show any pump replacement pieces. Is this a throw away unit?

Hi Don,

It sounds like a problem with the units by-pass valve. Unfortunately the manufacture did not design the pump on this unit to be serviceable. There are no parts available for the main pump unit.

Thank you,

-Mark

Question: Outlet Housing

While using the Washer I accidentally stopped using the the gun , while the motor kept running it accumulated pressure and damaged the plastic housing where the outlet hose is attached. Do they sell the part?

Question: Useless Washer

My Pressure Washer doesn't seem to want to work. The motor just doesn't want to start. I seem to think that it might be the condenser. If so where do I get one? I'm really having a hard time with this. Please help!

How do you replace the hose & gun assembly? Is this something that can be done by the average person or should I take it to a repair facility?

IT IS A SIMPLE MATTER OF BUYING THE ASSEMBLY, DISCONNECT THE HOSE ASSEMBLY IN FRONT AND SCREW NEW ONE ON.

The connection to the unit has a plastic connector and some of the teeth are stripped so when the water goes on the hose pops off how can this be fixed?

Cappy

I have the same problem.
I checked the parts list for Black & Decker Power Washer model PW 1600. According to the diagram for the unit, that plastic connector is no longer used. It's been replaced by a completely different connection. Probably because of all the problems with the plastic connection being stripped. Here's the web address for the diagram: http://www.ereplacementparts.com/black-and-decker-pw1600-1600-psi-pressure-washer-parts-c-4167_9499_9560.html#question_4742.
To fix the problem, I would bet you'd have to take the unit apart, remove the stripped connection, install the new replacement connector and re-assemble the unit.

The hose has plugged. Compressed air from both ends does not free it. Running a wire down from both ends stops the wire at the plug. Any ideas? Thanks!
Question:

The Hose & Gun Assembly is leaking extremely bad.
How can I repair this gun assembly without buying the whole assembly? I'll be better off buying a new pressure washer for the price of the assembly. $87.22..

Washer worked fine for about a year, the wand started to leak very bad. It was not the o-rings but the plastic tube that the o-rings are on. The plastic has a hair line crack that is not visible without the pressure. As far as I know the only solution is the whole wand.

I'm getting ready to dissect my B&D 1600 psi power washer//what part(s) do you need??
I'm generally not Brand loyal but Black and Decker has always delivered for me. That was my decision point in this purchase. First year the hose which is rather stiff broke at the connector. Than the turbo wand went south and when I went to unscrew the
mechanism to examine it, the screw broke off in the wand. All told I would have to spend half the purchase price on maintenance and parts replacement cost in the two years I've owned it. Also, the detergent reservoir works only when it wants to and then very inadequately. Still, the beast keeps kicking but I'd never replace it with a similar product.
I would not give it a 1. more like a 0. I used it 2 times and the part that attaches the hose to the unit broke. You have to buy the whole hose. The washer was $50. The hose assembly to fix the problem is $78-$89. My 1st pressure washer lesson, cheap means cheap.

Used this product about three times, started leaking alot, lost pressure. I had an extremely hard time taking it apart to get to problem. Now I can't get any internal parts. Don't buy any B & D products like this, this was my second one that didn't work.
The high pressure wand seems to be a weak link - starts to leak from side and replacement of o-ring does not correct it.

i experienced the same problem
bought this pressure washer for son in law and daughjters christmas gift and they didn't use it until november of next year. it would not work right out of the box . they did not call about replacement in time to have it covered under warranty. coucl not get anything done about not working,. now can't find parts listed for pump as i was going to work on it myself. this is third black and decker tool that i have purchased in last two years but it will be my last as customer service sucks, not only on this item but on all three. thanks

I agree will these posts. The handle has an extremely poor design. Mine leaks as well. A replacement handle costs more than what I purchased the washer for new. This is the second cheap pressure washer I have bought and the last from B & D.
