Product Description ?

This replacement motion drive belt is used with Murray riding lawn mowers/tractors. This is the the belt that helps to drive the mower. Inspect belt periodically and replace it when worn or stretched. It is always recommended to clean the pulleys before installing the new belt. This will helps to ensure top performance and longevity with your new belt. It is made out of rubber material and it is sold individually.

You would need a wrench set and pliers to replace this belt.

• First make sure to disconnect the spark plug wire
• Fist you would need to lower the mower deck to the lowest position
• Remove the cutting deck and battery
• Loosen the transaxle pulley
• Relieve tension on the upper drive belt
• Remove the upper drive belt and lawn mower belt guide
• Take the belt off the variable speed pulley
• Remove the belt keeper
• Remove the bolt securing the crankshaft pulley
• Make a note of where parts are located before you install a new drive belt
• Remove the lower drive belt from the lawn mower
• Install the new lower drive belt
• Reassemble and test the unit

    Pulley bearing locked down, burned flat spot on pulley and finally broke the belt

    1 Remove old pulley- one nut
    2 Removed what was left of old broken belt.
    3-Most difficult part was deciding how to thread new drive belt onto machine--remove two bolts that hold on shifting mechanism-
    4. Replace new pulley
    5. Check that mower deck AND drive belt for tractor were correctly threaded onto pulley

    Drive belt broke

    1. Pulled pins, dropped the cutting deck, and moved it out of the way.
    2. Followed diagram on the belt package for routing the new belt.
    3. Reinstalled the cutting deck.
    4. Youtube videos mentioned having to disconnect the steering wheel. I did not have to do that, maybe because I removed the cutting deck. Easy repair.
