Question: Dewalt Vibration DW705

Norris

Dewalt dw705 type2. I replaced the motor bearing drive end. The motor now vibrates so much that the blade also vibrates. I don't know why the motor vibrates only a guess that the saw was used with a bad bearing and somehow knocked the armature our of balance. The motor will vibrate with the belt removed. Can the armature be balanced or do I need to replace the armature?

Hi Norris,
The only thing that could throw the armature off balance other then a bad bearing is not having the bearing dampener Rubber Sleeve
Part Number: 137382-01 in place. This would throw the armature off the center of its axes.Have you checked that? Hope that helps.Good luck.

I see the bearing damper sleeve in parts (18) diagram. I did not replace the rear bearing so how would the sleeve be installed? Should I replace the rear bearing so the sleeve will fit?

Hi Norris,
The rear damper is a small rubber sleeve that slides over the bearing and absorbs lateral thrust.Did you remove the armature when you took it apart? If so the damper should still be in the case or attached to the bearing. What belt did you remove?

When I removed the armature I noticed that the rear bearing had no sleeve. I did have (1)- small rubber plug which, according to the TYPE 1 diagram, should be (2) #14 rubber plugs. This saw motor is marked as a TYPE 2, thus the confusion.
Could this missing plug be causing the vibration?
Thanks for you help.
