do I have to change the entire spindle or is there another way to fix it?

Reply: The Bolt That Holds The Blade On...

WJA

Hello ddoerr80,

You may get away with just ordering the 712-0417A Hex Flange Nut 5/8-18 Thread. But you may want to get a thread chaser and clean up the threads on the spindle. If that doesn't work you may need to go with the complete 918-04474B Spindle Assembly, With Pulley. Note: The new spindle assembly does not include a new blade bolt.

'08 Bolens 15.5 HP. The engine runs fine for about 45 minutes then just quits like it ran out of gas. Changed coil still the same thing, changed carb still does the same. Pulled screw from bottom carb bowl and no gas, new filter and over 1/2 tank of gas. Let sit for a couple of hours and will run for about 45 minutes and quits again. Any ideas??

Question: Bolens Rider Mower

tbroder55

once the 9/16 bolt is removed does it come straight off? or is it screwed in the steering shaft?

Hello tbroder55,

By looking at the 738-0919A steering shaft. It is a serrated shaft at the end where the 631-04028 steering wheel is located. So I would say the the wheel would pull right off.

Question: Grass Catcher

1041659

Bought one, grass only goes to shoot entrance, no farther. Bought new blades, said to work with catcher, same problem. Does anybody make blades for this tractor that facilitate proper operation of the 190-180A catcher, because I haven't found it.

Question: PTO Pulley Screw

PaulF

Is this a left handed thread?

Hello PaulF,

Speaking to the manufacture, they are telling me that the 710-04607 is a standard thread.

Hope this helps,

Question: Deck Engage/disengage

chip

My blades will not disengage. When I pull the lever back it doesn't seem to have any tension. What could be my problem?

The cable is similar to a brake cable on a bike. Two possible reasons: 1. the cable is stretched..so it is not allowing the brake pad to make connection to the pulley. 2. the cable could have been bent or cut.
These 2 things happened to mine. Hope this helps out.
The mechanism attached to the front wheel for steering broke apart. What is the part name or number. It is brass colored and attached to a black bar coming from on top of the deck.
How to install the drive belt?

Question: Part Identity

Dave Cheffings

I wish to know if spindle assy /pulley 5.75 part no 918 0447 is the whole assembly that protrudes through the deck and carries the mower blade.
Bought new in 08. I cut 3 acres every 2 weeks. Never ever had any problems yet. Still the same battery and belts even.
