The purpose of these pre-filters is to provide an extra layer of filtration. They ensure that the air that goes through the unit is free of dust and other harmful contaminats. Unfortunately, over time they may wear out and get clogged eventually requiring a replacement to ensure best air quality. Note, this pack includes two durable pre-filters. I just need the prefilter forthe model below..you also show the yearly kit shows ahepa filter..Is this the plastic like filter where theprefilter is atttached??
