It prevents slippage between these parts, ensuring smooth synchronization and power transmission. With a width of 3/32 inches and a length of 5/8 inches, consider replacing a woodruff key if you notice misalignment or excessive movement between the connected parts. Be sure to inspect the key for signs of wear, damage, or bending. Removing the key depends on the make and model of your tool. If the key is visible, gently tap it from one side using a small hammer and a punch or drift pin. This will dislodge it from its slot. If the key is stuck or difficult to access, you may need to partially disassemble the tool to gain better access to the key. Once the key is loose, carefully pull it out using pliers. Clean the keyway and slot before installing the new key. Before making your purchase, remember that this component is sold individually.

6 - Installed new drive sprocket and reinstalled snap ring.
