    Breville Water Seal Replacement
Part arrived quickly and resolved my water tank leaking issue. Relatively easy to install. Not all people will have proper small screwdrivers. Only thing I can say that was surprising was that shipping the cheapest way was twice the cost of the part.

My espresso machine was leaking. Bought this seal from ereplacementparts. Their website was easy to navigate. The price was very reasonable. I picked the cheapest shipping option, and got the part in a 4 or 5 days. Very happy with this transaction. Machine working perfectly again.

I think my water tank valve needs to be replaced. Leaks water all over from the back about 3-8 minutes after use. Coffee comes out fine with good pressure. There is a slight issue also w the water in the front (to fill an americano) it sometimes doesn't come out in a nice stream, sometimes it comes out with a lot of air even after the :30 seconds or so that it should take to clear any air from using the wand. What needs to be replaced?
Liz for model number BES870XL asked on 2022-02-08
Hello Liz, Thank you for the question. This is normally an indication the valve needs to be replaced. We also suggest checking the water lines for wear or damage. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Watched a video on eReplacement Parts to figure out how to open up the machine. I was expecting it to be a difficult and time consuming repair. Turned out you could do it in about 5 to 10 minutes max, except I did have one problem. The middle screw on my machine under the tank had rusted quite a bit from the leak and was difficult to remove. I thought I had stripped to screwdriver slot which would have made the job significantly more difficult. I was thinking how to drill out the screw, when I simply got a better screwdriver and was able to remove the screw to access the leaking gasket/washer. Once opened, it was apiece of cake. Working great now and no leaks.

Thanks eReplacemetn for having the part and for providing "how-to" videos.

The only problem with this repair was that since the water was able to leak down into the screw that held the part on and the tops where completely rusted. I was forced to drill them out completely. Which really doesn't affect anything with the machine. Or it would have been a pretty straight forward repair will little complexity.

To replace the inlet seal, I had to unscrew three screw from the front interface, then remove water tank to get to 6-9 more screws, so the whole inside was accessible. At that point, I left the water hose attached to inlet fixture but unscrewed it from underneath the water tank. From there, I just swapped the old rubber o ring with new one. Put it back together.

I also re-snapped the plastic undercarriage in a plcae where it wasn't attached. Did a big clean cycle with vinegar, letting soak for 12 hours, then refilled with regular filtered water. One of these three things fixed my leak.

Followed the video on your side for hose replacement to figure out how to remove the covers. It was not as easy as described. The screws were really tight and one snapped in half. We replaced the seal pretty easily and put it all back together. Worked perfectly.

    1. Remove the plastic tank and upper part of coffee grinder.
    2. Remove all screws from the back side including three covered with plastic caps.
    3. On the base of the back side, you can see the black inlet seal. Remove the silicone tube first by removing the plastic ties then remove the two screws below to replace the water seal.
    4. Then, put back all the pieces. You will need a small plastic tie to keep the silicone tube in place and avoid leakage. If you have the problem in this way then you must have to remove the large silicone tube with the inner water filter with its attached tubes to work more comfortable, but you will need to use more plastic ties to put back the tubes.
