Product Description ?

This part is an OEM from Husqvarna and Jonsered for use with Lawnmowers. The transmission rotates the axle to drive the wheels and move the mower forward. The drive cable pushes the transmission forward to engage the drive belt and spin the transmission pulley when you pull the drive lever up on the mower handle. Replace the transmission if it's locked up or won't drive the wheels when engaged. This part is sold individually. The tools that you will need to replace the transmission are a socket wrench, snap ring pliers, and a wrench.

I removed the drive pulley cable and the wheels and wheel gears and then removed the transmission. I replaced the transmission and reassembled the drive belt, wheel gears, wheels, and drive cable. I also, cut and screwed a small piece of plastic to repair the guard where a rock had pierced it and broken through the guard and damaged the transmission bracket that the drive cable attaches to. It was fairly simple and runs great now!!! Thanks for the part.

Screwdriver, Socket set, Impact wrench helps to remove blade, also Jack stands!

Look closely at the diagram on this site and watch a you tube video for help. The diagram on the eReplacement Parts website was very helpful since I wasn't able to find a diagram for the Husqvarna 775EX anywhere else. Get ready to remove the entire rear frame of the mower and the shrouding on the underside. Unfortunately, no good shortcuts I could find.

Note: The model name wasn't exact match but the transmission fit perfectly.

Shut off fuel line. Tip mower up on front end, but on blocks so the wheels are free to move.
remove grass flap, wheels, axle gears.
Note orientation of wheel height adjuster bar across bottom rear of mower (take a picture) with the height adjuster in a known setting (e.g. 5).
Remove bolt holding front wheel adjuster to left rear wheel assembly.
Remove handle wing-nut on one side, along with retention spring on pivot
Remove bolts holding wheel assemblies on both sides - height adjuster my need to move up and down to get to some of them.
Remove nuts on adjuster bar across back-bottom - remove adjuster bar
    Remove Blade and drive pulley
Remove belt cover (on bolt on bottom, two little ones on top of mower near back. This is not really necessary, but makes it easier to see what's going on.
unhook spring and clutch cable from transmission (my transmission housing was broken and the spring was missing). Take a picture first to you can put them back where they belong. The cable hooks to the plastic housing, the spring to the metal belt guard.
Remove the drive shaft and transmission - takes a little effort to get out of the bearings on each side.
Remove the drive pulley and the belt. I put vice-grips on the drive shaft to put a wrench on the pulley belt.
Reverse the process to install the new transmission.

Replaced the rear drive transmission. It was to important to recall the removal sequence in the reinstallation. Other than that it went smoothly and the mower runs like new.
