Drive belt, traction cable and deck clippings deflector needed replacing.

On two separate orders I purchased which contained the drive belt, the traction cable and the deck clipping deflector, I was able to replace all the parts withing an hour of manual labor. The plastic clipping deflector underneath the main deck was the hardest part to replace due to the rear wheel axle having to be removed to replace the part. The belt required it to be mounted onto two pulleys, one was on the main motor shaft and the other one was on the drive motor itself. The drive motor required a special nut driver which could have easily be found at Sears or any other tool place. The cable took on minutes to replace. The unit now runs like new and I was able to avoid having to spend another three hundred dollars to replace it.

Went online and found a video with my exact mower and how to replace the cable. I watched that and then was able to easily change it out. The part that took the longest was finding my socket set! I haven't changed the side deflector yet, I needed to mow the lawn before it rained again.

    1. Tipped the mower over and removed the blade nut note use a block of wood to hold blade steady. And the two cover plate mounting bolts to cable housing.
    2. Install new blade using the same mower bolt. Don't forget to use the block of wood to hold blade steady.
    3. Turn the mower right side up and install new cable. Run spring clip through housing and attach, and push black plastic clip through housing until it clicks into place. Run cable up through cable housing and run S clip into throttle housing. Note don't tighten cable until you have run cable through brackets and loop harness. Once installed you can tighten mounting bolt( my model has one bolt on the left hand side of mower handle bar that also holds the throttle lever)
    4. Turn mower on it side again and install the two cover plate bolts from underneath and tighten. Total time for both installs 20 minutes.
One other note tip the mower on its side with gas tank facing up or you'll have a gas puddle on the ground.

Remove cover on top of deck. This covers your drive motor and can be removed by two bolt type screws under the deck. With the mower sitting up, remove the cable spring. Use pliers to remove the cable from the eyelet. Remove nut at cable holder just below your handles and pull cable out. Installation I usually start at the spring and work my way back up. Seems to work just fine.

Observed the route of the cable to be replaced. Two bolts on the under carriage had to be removed to uncover the plastic housing to the drive cable. Unhooked the old cable and replaced the new. Adjust as necessary.
