Product Description ?

This is a genuine OEM supplied component which is specially made for use with Jet and Powermatic band saws. The tire is one of the most important parts of a bandsaw. Its purpose is to help track the blade on the wheel. Unfortunately, over time the material will wear out and it may begin to crack eventually requiring a replacement to ensure peak performance. Keep in mind this high-quality tire is made of durable rubber and is sold individually. Please make sure to refer to the owners manual of your model for the exact location and application of this part.

NOTE: We do offer an article on how to replace a band saw tire. Here is the link to it.

The parts were and exact fit. When you put the new tires on make sure you put them in hot water for a few minutes before trying to install. They are suppose to be a tight fit. The drive belt was very easy to replace. The band saw runs really quiet now and tracks great..
Shipping was very quick like always.

Old tire dried out allowing the blade to slip. The new tire seems small but you just have to let it sit in warm/hot water to make it pliable enough to stretch. If you can, its best to have two people attaching this tire on the wheel.

    Band Saw

    Difficulty

    Easy

    Time

    Less than 15 minutes

    Tools Used

    Screwdriver, Socket set, Adjustable Wrench

    Parts Used
    Unplug power to the tool.
Reduce the tension on the saw blade.
Used 2 screwdrivers to pry the old rubber tire off the wheel. Note: wear yard gloves to protect fingers and hands from the Bandsaw blade).
Placing the new rubber tire on the lower wheel requires using a screwdriver in each hand to move the tire onto the wheel. Even with the tension device not engaged the tire fit is very tight. Once the tire is reinstalled the Bandsaw blade is moved onto the top wheel first. Then the blade could be moved onto the wheel. Then the next step is to align the blade on both upper and lower wheel. Move the wheels manually to get the blade centered on the tire. The last step is to engage the blade tension device and set the tension to the blade size. Plug the power cord into the outlet. Turn on the Bandsaw. The blade should remain centered on the rubber tire.
