Switch would not work
It is only necessary to remove one side of handle. Although the new switch did not match the new one, it was pretty simple. Insert wires from power cord into holes marked 1-2, tighten screws. Wires from motor go to holes M1- M2. Holes marked C1-C2 for capacitor are not used.
Good luck, Tom

switch went bad
Repair went simply with no problems. Removed a few screws installed parts screwed back together and it works as it should.
I got this tool at a pawn shop used a few years ago for 30 dollars it was a Makita scraper new about 400.00. Best 30 bucks ever spent once construction friends found out I had this everyone wanted to use it so when it stopped working no one offered to help replace it. Long story short I got my tool back fixed it and they all think its history.
