Product Description ?

This is a genuine Dewalt replacement part and is sold individually.
Switches are commonly replaced parts in power tools.
A switch handles the on/off and variable speed functions.
They also have a role in electric breaking; they can momentarily reverse electrical polarity.
Because switches use mechanical internals, they will degrade and wear out over time, eventually requiring replacement.

Some common signs of a broken or failing switch are:

  • The tool has completely stopped functioning
  • it will not turn on.
  • The tool operates intermittently, requiring multiple tries to turn on, until eventually it won’t turn on at all.

MAKE SURE THE GRINDER IS UNPLUGGED! Removed side cover on DeWalt grinder [Torx head screws]. At this time look at where all the wires that lead to the brushes and etc. are positioned in the recesses in the grinder body. Then lift out the switch a little ways so terminals can be reached with a screwdriver, remove the two input and the two output wires on the old switch, then put these wires on the new switch. Set the switch back in its position [at this time check that all wires are where they were when to side cover was removed. Replace the side cover and make sure it is not binding anywhere, put in the Torx screws....be careful about torque on the screws, remember they are going into plastic not metal. Piece of Cake!
