Product Description ?

This Trigger switch has 4 terminals and a locking mechanism for the switch. This genuine Makita replacement part is sold individually.

Switches are commonly replaced parts in tools. A switch handles on/off and variable speed operations. They also have a role in electric breaking; they can momentarily reverse electrical polarity. Because switches use mechanical internals, they will degrade and wear out over time, eventually needing replacement. Some common signs of a broken or failing switch are as follows:

  • The tool has completely stopped functioning
  • it will not start.
  • The tool operates intermittently, requiring multiple tries to turn on, until eventually it won’t start at all.
  • The variable speed function and electric braking aren’t working properly.

I run a welding shop at our high school. I have used them to replace parts at home on my appliances, now I use them to replace parts at school. They are wonderful to work with. They also made it easy for me to include my tax-exempt number on my orders.

I removed 5 screws to remove cover. Remove 2 screws that hold down the cord to the other side of the cover. Remove 2 screws that hold the electrical clips on the trigger, slide the new cord guard onto the new power cord.Replace old cord by installing the new electrical cord and attaching the 2 electrical clips to the new trigger. Attach the 2 screws that hold down the electrical cord to the cover. Align the electrical cords to fit so they will not interfere with placement of the other side of the cover. Install the 5 screws and I am done.

Removed the handle to expose the switch, removed the two screws holding the switch in place. Removed the four wires connected to the old switch. Began to wire the new switch, but found the new switch and the old one used different screws. I ended up going to the hardware store to find four metric screws that would fit the switch.
