1. Disconnect the battery, negative cable first. This step is essential since you are dealing with an electrical part.
2. Remove the two bolts on the engine side and two self-tapping screws on the driver’s side which connect the upper dashboard to the lower dashboard.
3. Remove the bolt that holds steering wheel to the column and remove the steering wheel.
4. Raise the upper dashboard enough to reach under and grasp the ignition switch.
5. Remove the nut and washer from the ignition switch, then carefully withdraw and extend the switch and socket out from under the upper dashboard.
6. Unplug the switch from the socket and insert the replacement.
7. Replace the nut and washer. I used the parts from the old switch. That nut was thinner and made for a better fit.
8. Reattach the upper dashboard and steering wheel.
9. Reconnect the battery, positive cable first.
